I was thrilled to meet John at Sadler's Wells during the intermission of "Lifehouse". Too bad I had a crappy disposable camera, otherwise there'd be a picture of him & me here... (the will be, eventually) This is him & his mum, Queenie. I remember seeing her at Sheperd's Bush Empire, standing at the side of the stage, watching John (who felt really ill back then) like a statue... She didn't move a muscle... Amazing... I think she is the rolemodel of the British mum. The caption says (by Pete Townshend): "John was a great friend of me in the very early days. His mum is still a constant presence at Who shows, despite our long periods of inactivity. John and I always knew we would be famous at 13 years old, and made careful plans to marry cute girls and buy lots of guitars."
