Houston

Rockefeller's

February 21, 1996

From THarden520@aol.com

Houston's Rockefeller's was as follows...

Joni's Butterfly came on at 10:30 P.M. and did their version of "Made In Japan" and then did the rest of their material

John came on 30 minutes later and performed:

  • Heaven & Hell
  • Had Enough
  • Success Story (8-string)
  • Trick of the Light (8-string)
  • Bridges Under the Water (from "The Rock")
  • Real Me
  • Love Doesn't Last (from "The Rock")
  • Boris (with extended jam at the end)
  • Life After Love (from "The Rock"...Great finger work during this piece)
  • You
  • Last Song (from "The Rock")
  • My Wife (yea, but which one?)
  • Long Live Rock

    (encore)

  • Summertime Blues
  • Shakin' All Over (with a bass solo)

THOUGHTS: Off the bat, the mix wasn't good. But then again, I'd prefer John to be too loud rather than too soft. His bass fedback quite a lot. But I enjoy doing that with my bass too. John was too loud in comparison to the other players. But this is HIS show. As mentioned previously by another AOL user, YES...It is great that the band and John would come out to autograph and chat. I really hope that John will continue to do that.

By the way, John...Remember the goofball that threw his demo tape on stage at the San Antonio Ringo Starr show? That was my tape. I hope you heard the tape. If not, I'll try to pelt you with another tape sometime. If you ever need a backup bass player to fill those multitracked basses, reach me at THARDEN520@AOL.COM.

    And thanks for the music!

    Tim...
