The Mason Jar
March 6, 1996
From: Conrad Beebe (Ringo@indirect.com)
The Phoenix show was held on Wed March 6, 1996 at a place called the "Mason Jar". The Jar is a very small\old club in the central part of PHX. About 75 people showed up. (I can't explain)
The show was good (LA sounded better-probaly due to location) but the PHX show seemed more personal. John and the band kept making eyes at their surroundings laughing at the fluttering air conditioner. He said: "My Wife has an Helicopter." very funny. The a\c unit did kind-of sound like a heli.
Song list was about the same as in LA. I was enjoying it to much to jot set list down, but it was very similar to rest of US. Best effort: "The Real Me".
After the show--the only way to get a autograph, was via John's road manager. He asked John to sign 2 of my items--very cool (great examples of his well-known sig!!!
John is a great and talented factor in music, and I am glad that he took the time to give Phoenix another look. Please come back John!!! We need a better class of music here (like LA). It is just a matter of time.
Thanks for the GREAT Memories--ROCK ON!
